Aparajita Herbal Tea

Ingredients:

Every part of the Aparajita plant can be used for making herbal tea. To know more about the uses of Aparajita, you can refer to the blog on: Aparajita: The undefeated herb

For this particular herbal tea recipe we will be using Aparajita flowers. The flowers can be either fresh or dried.

  1. 5-10 Aparajita Flowers ( The more the flowers the more intense the blue colour)

  2. 1.5 Cups water

  3. 1/4th tsp of Ginger juice (Optional)

  4. 1/4th tsp of dried lemon grass (Optional)

  5. Agave syrup, Maple Syrup or Honey to taste (Optional)

  6. Lemon Juice (Optional)

Preparation:

Makes one glass ( 200ml ) of Herbal Tea.

Method 1: Quick and Simple, Colourful and Powerful

Boil the water, Add the flowers. Stir for 10 to 15 seconds tgill the flowers loose their color and the tea turns blue. Filter the tea and sweeten if you prefer it sweet.

Method 2: With Ginger and Lemon Grass - ( More flavourful)

Keep water for boiling, add ginger and lemon grass.

When the water starts to boil add the flowers. Stir for 10-15 till the flowers turn pale and your tea turns blue.

Method 3: Changing the color of your blue tea with Lemon - (Enhanced Antioxidant Potential)

Adding 1 tsp of lemon juice to your tea will change the color of your tea. The color of your tea however will change from blue to purple and you need not worry about it as this is due to the presence of a pigment in the flowers that changes its colour in presence of acidic juices.

Parents can use this to their advantage by letting children add lemon juice to the tea so that they can enjoy the health benefits of their Magical drink.
