--------------------------------------------------------------------

Papaya for Wart Removal:

( What makes it efficacious : Enzyme Papain )

Remedy Type: Enzyme based, Day time remedy

Papaya is good both internally as well as externally. Internally it would provide a variety of phytochemicals that would help improve digestion, increase absorption , improve immmune response all of which would help your body address the warts - inside out..

Externally it helps nourish the skin as well as cleanse it of dead cells in a manner that it addresses the warts- Outside in.

To use it internally, all that you have to do is to enjoy the fruit, the digestive system will do the rest of the work. They say, ' The devil is in the details' , so lets respect this age old adage and not go too deep into how Papaya works internally,- Eat it forget it :)

However if you want to use it externally, there is quite a bit of effort you need to put in. You also need to be sure that you monitor the action that papaya has on the skin and not overdo it. When you use it this way, its better to get into the details. Facing the devil is better than causing unintentional injury to the skin. So lets dive into the details.....

This remedy calls for a ripe papaya. You need to use the peels that have been left over after the pulp has been scooped out from the ripe fruit. Make sure that the peel retains a little bit of the pulp as well

Using the Peel:

Cut / Size the peel in a manner that will make it easy to hold ( Not too big and long or not too small ).

Gently press the peel on the wart and rub in the pulp on and around the wart. If the wart is on the underside of your feet and the skin around is thick you can use another peel or two and massage on the wart and around it. If however the wart is on area surrounded by skin that is tender, use just one or two such applications at a time.

After having made the application with pulpy papaya peels, you can let the juices and pulp remain on the area for a couple of minutes before washing it off.

Repeat this 2 to 3 times everyday.

Note: If the wart is quite thick, you can gently file it with Pumice stone. A little at a time, every day will help decrease the size of the wart without causing an injury

Using the paste:

Do this 15-20 minutes before your bath or a foot soak.

Take a small ammount of papaya pulp and cover just the wart with it. You can dress it up with some cotton and an adhesive tape so that the pulp remains in place.

Remove the dressing after 15-20 minutes, wash the area and then gently file the wart with a pumice stone.

Duration of treatment: Repeat Daily till the wart falls off

Pineapple for Wart Removal:

( What makes it efficacious : Enzyme Bromelain)

Remedy Type: Enzyme based, Day time remedy

Using Pineapple Peel / Slice:

You can either use pineapple peel that you are going to discard or use a slice of pineapple. Pineapple would be quite a bit more potent than papaya, so whilst you can get your results faster, it could also cause cuts on the skin around the wart if you overdo it. Use it in a manner similar to Papaya peel

Using Pineapple Pulp/Paste:

Presoak the area that has the wart in water for half a minute or so, before application of the pineapple paste.

To make a paste use a small slice of pineapple and use a mortar and pestle to make it into a pulp. Cover it on the wart. Keep it for 2-3 minutes and then wash it off. File the wart with a pumice stone.

Duration of treatment: Repeat Daily till the wart falls off

Oil Mixture

( What makes it efficacious : Antiviral and immunomodulatig properties of oils )

Remedy Type: Day or Night time Remedy ( Longer Contact with Skin)

Oils Required:

1. Pongamia Oil - 15 grams or 15 ml

2. Neem Oil - 5 grams or 5 ml

3. Pure Tea tree Oil - 5 grams or 5 ml

4. Preferably Mango butter or Kokkum Butter ( Can also use Cocoa butter as an alternative) - 15 grams ( If you liquefy it by heating then you can take 15 ml)

Melt the mango butter and then blend in the remaining three oils. Store them in a glass jar.

Apply this after you have done the Papaya or Pineapple treatment. This can be applied topically and either left open or covered with a thin piece of gauze and a surgical tape

Summary:

You can use the remedies listed above either singly or in combination. What works best is a combined approach. Here is an example

1. In the morning: Enzyme treatment ( Papaya or Pineapple treatment) followed by Filing with pumice stone.

2. Post Enzyme treatment : Oil application so that the oil stays on the wart throughout the day

3. If possible: Enzyme treatment before sleeping

4. Before sleeping: Dress the wart with Oxalis corniculata / Tomato paste / Apple Cider Vinegar.

or

Before sleeping: Apply the Oils on a cotton swab, cover with plastic and seal it in with surgical tape

The steps given above is just an example of how you can create a routine that you follow on a daily basis so as to be able to get rid of the wart. You can come up with your own routines based on the availability of materials and your personal preference.
